Quinn spent her childhood in Huntington Beach, CA later moving
to Snohomish,WA. Mentored by her high school art teacher,
she received a scholarship to the Art Institute of Seattle.
Formal training allowed her to further develop certain skills,
but for her, art has never been about technical expertise.
“I found early on that there was
a feeling that came when someone enjoyed one of my drawings
or paintings, and we would have that moment of recognition.
Something passed between us that can’t be explained in words. I feel
it when I see brilliant acting, hear music that has real
juice, or watch another artist paint. It’s all the
same thing… someone’s gift being passed on.”
Now rapidly emerging into the public eye, she is at a very
prolific stage in her career. Currently based in Spokane,
WA, her work is now on view in a growing number of galleries
and commercial installations. www.colleenquinnart.com
